SSI Young Investigator Award
Every year each national SSI society will nominate one candidate to be awarded the
SSI Young Investigator Award, to be approved by the SSI council.Candidates (up to ten years after PhD) should be members of the SSI, and have made
significant contributions in our field and in promoting immunology in Scandinavia.The SSI council will make their selection known May 1st each year.
The recipients of the award will be presented in the SJI, and write a brief review
(NB: this item (#4) has is still to be approved by the SJI).The recipients of the award will give invited lectures at the SSI Annual Meeting the
same year, and are awarded a travel grant to cover travel, accommodation,
registration fee and conference dinner.
Qualification criteria:
I. Open to SSI members only
II. The applicant must have made a significant contribution to the advancement of
Immunology within Scandinavia. This should be evident through the following
criteria:
A. The candidate should be within 10 years of finishing doctoral study.
And:
B. Fulfil any of the three following criteria:
Be a group leader of a significant scientific project.
Have obtained a significant scientific grant within the last two years as
a PI.Been an invited speaker at an international scientific meeting within
the last two years.Made a significant contribution in the field of education or promotion
of immunology.Be a significant member of an international scientific collaborative
project.Be the first or a leading author of at least one scientific paper
FSI PhD thesis awards 2021-2023: Olli Dufva and Iivo Hetemäki
We are pleased to announce that the winners of the FSI PhD thesis award 2021-2023 are Olli Dufva (Functional immunogenomics in hematological malignancies, University of Helsinki) and Iivo Hetemäki (Regulation of the germinal centre reaction in inborn errors of immunity, University of Helsinki).
