About the Society
The Finnish Society for Immunology (FSI) unites Finnish immunologists — researchers dedicated to advancing the science of immunology. As of 2026, the society comprised approximately 330 members.
FSI is affiliated with the Scandinavian Society for Immunology (SSI), and, through this membership, with the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).
FSI operates under the Council of Finnish Academies as the Finnish National Committee of Immunology. It represents Finnish expertise on immunology in international and Scandinavian forums.
FSI also provides travel grants to immunology congresses. Additional information on applying for a grant can be found at SSI's website and the Events section of FSI's website when the application period is open.
Becoming a member
Anyone interested in immunology can join the Society. Juridical persons can join as a supportive member. The annual membership fee is EUR 15. New members are approved by the FSI board, which meets every three months. In any matters related to membership, please contact our secretary Markus Ojanen.
The members of FSI automatically become members of the Scandinavian Society for Immunology (SSI), the European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS).
